Frequently Asked Questions

Will INT-14-BW work with my dual-band router that broadcasts both 2.4GHz and 5GHz?

This thermometer requires a 2.4GHz WiFi network to connect. If you have a newer dual-band router, you may need to check your router settings to ensure a separate 2.4GHz network is enabled.

Do I lose connection if I walk away from my house?

No. You have two options for remote monitoring. Using WiFi mode, you can check temperatures from anywhere as long as your base is connected to your home net work. Using Bluetooth mode, you need to stay within 300ft/91m of the base. Many users confirm they “never lost connection” once properly set up.

Is the app easy to use for a beginner?

The app is designed to be intuitive, with many users finding it “very intuitive” and easy to navigate.

Can I use this thermometer in a microwave or pressure cooker?

No, the INT-14-BW is not suitable for use in microwave ovens or pressure cookers, which will damage the device and create safety hazards.

What if the thermometer goes offline?

If you lose connection, the base stores up to 30 minutes of temperature data offline. As soon as your phone reconnects to the base via WiFi or Bluetooth, the app will automatically sync the data so you don’t miss any history.

What alarms does INT-14-BW have?

It features a 4-Alarm System:

  • Target Temperature Alarm: Alerts you when food hits your set temp.
  • Pre-Alarm: Warns you before the target is reached.
  • High/Low Threshold Alarms: Notifies you if the food temp goes outside your set range.
  • Cook Timer: Alerts you when a set cook time has elapsed.
How do I change from Celsius to Fahrenheit?

You can change the temperature unit directly in the INKBIRD app settings.

Great out of the Gate.

"This is my first trial with Inkbird and it performed flawlessly. Allowed Mr to cook chicken on indirect heat and bring it up to target temperature with sear and direct heat. Best price for four probes and allows me to cook to every persons' preference. Love it!!"

Perfect Cooks Every Time

"Knowing the exact internal temp in real time changes everything about grilling! I’m now slow cooking stress free and nailing my grilling! I recently felt confident enough to spend on American Wagyu when hosting dinner. I nailed the medium-rare and well done for those who wanted it. No more guessing and serving my guests meat that is more or less rare than they actually wanted. Product is sleek, well priced and high quality! The app is fantastic as well. Best buy of the year!"

— Travis P. (5/5)

First time use

"Use the INKBIRD for the first time to cook a whole chicken in the oven. Set oven to 400, INKBIRD was reading around 340. I understand my oven temperature could definitely be off. But the probes were reading internal temps that were anywhere from 20 to 40 higher than my Thermapen. Could it be possible that I didn’t have the probes inserted correctly? Maybe. I will be trying them again in a couple of weeks when I do a brisket in my Pit Boss Vertical 4 smoker. I will report back with the results after that. I’m hoping that it was operator error and not the probes because I really want them to be accurate and work properly. Have a great night."

— Keith L. (3/5)

Another great product

"Definitely worth the on sale price. I've had several Inkbird products in the past. Been wanting the multi probe wireless wifi system for a good while and knowing the quality and reliability of my thermometers from the past and catching a sales price made it a easy decision."

— Terry K. (5/5)

1st smoke of Lamb Chops

"1st effort worked great. At 225 degrees, Probe said 115, pulled it off let sit, then upped temp to 475 and then seared to 133"

— James V. (5/5)

So easy

"In the past I’ve bought the other brands and they seem to be almost impossible to get started and connected. This was so simple and easy I did it myself with my kids help. Would recommend this to any friends or family looking for quality and simplicity"

— Jason H. (5/5)

Great meat thermometer

"Great product easy to ise"

— Patricia R. (5/5)

Wireless meat thermometer

"This is the pinnace of wireless meat thermometers for manual grills. The only reason I give it 4 stars instead of 5 for 2 reasons: 1. It took about a half hour for my phone to recognize the inkbird, even after repeatedly following instructions. Then it just finally recognized it. I love the charts, the wireless probes. It really makes it easy to keep track of your meat 2. The actual device is essentially a repeater and it needs to be very close to the grill to connect to the probes. Your primary tracking would still be done from the phone"

— E M. (4/5)

These are AWESOME

"Nothing to not like about these probes. I use them so much I bought a 3rd set. Definitely “set it and forget it” probes because they tell you everything you need to know when cooking meat. If you are looking for a less expensive alternative, you found it. I have had my other 2 sets for several years and they are still going strong!"

— Felicia B. (5/5)

Like the product!!

"Used 2 probes the other day while smoking some pork butts. Really accurate. The only issue I had was the app. Everytime my phone would go into sleep mode the probes would disconnect with the Bluetooth and I’d have to reconnect them. Need to work on the app."
