What Does It Do

Measures Relative Humidity
A responsive, stable humidity sensor gives you accurate RH readings with minimal drift and long-term consistency.

Maintains Target Humidity
Set your target humidity range, and the INKBIRD humidity controller automatically switches between humidifier and dehumidifier when needed.

Alerts When Abnormal
Alarms trigger if humidity goes too high or low, or if the humidifier, dehumidifier, or sensor fails. The WiFi version sends app alerts.

I purchased this to maintain humidity in my mushroom fruiting chamber. The controller maintains the humidity level where it needs to be without running the humidifier constantly. It maintains the levels right where they need to be for mushrooms without leading to water buildup in the chamber from running the humidifier constantly.
I'm quite pleased with this unit which seems to work as advertised and is built sturdily. The controls to set humidity and other functions are straightforward and well-described. The unit has to AC output plugs, one to plug in a humidifier, the to plug in a dehumidifier. Theoretically, one could put a humidifier and dehumidifier in the same room and let them duke it out.
My wife runs 3 egg hatchers and our Inkbird controller makes environmental control for these a breeze. This unit is very easy to program, very accurate and dependable. The alarm system that notifies us when the humidity is outside our set parameters relieves from having to check the hatchers multiple times a day.
Simply put, I use this to automatically control a dehumidifier in my basement to keep a consistent and comfortable humidity. As the basement is finished and doubles as my home gym, it's a must have. The sensor mounts on the wall and send accurate. When the humidity gets to high it switches on the dehumidifier.
FAQ
How does INKBIRD humidity controller work?
INKBIRD humidity controller works by continuously measuring the relative humidity in the environment with its built-in sensor, and comparing them to your set target. If the humidity drops too low, the controller will activate a humidifier. Conversely, if the humidity exceeds the setpoint, it will switch on a dehumidifier.
How often do I need to calibrate a humidity controller?
Calibration needs can differ, but it's generally recommended to calibrate your humidity controller at least once a year or whenever you notice discrepancies between the controller readings and your actual humidity levels. In addition, if the sensor is being used in a harsh environment, you might need to calibrate it more often.
How to calibrate a humidity controller?
If you've got a humidity sensor that is recently calibrated, you can take advantage of it. But if not, here's what to do:
1. Put salt in a small container.
2. Add just enough water to moisten the salt without fully dissolving it.
3. Seal that container inside an airtight one and leave it for about a day.
4. After 24 hours, check the humidity reading. If it's not at 75% RH, adjust the sensor to read 75% RH.
What humidifier/dehumidifier can I use with INKBIRD humidity controller?
You can connect various humidifiers and dehumidifiers to the INKBIRD humidity controller, as long as they are compatible with the controller's voltage and output.
